Head Coach Casely

Carlos Casely’s appointment as Head Coach for Men & Women Tennis for the UIC Eagle Rays Tennis Program brings a wealth of experience and success in all areas and levels tennis, as the CASELY name is one that has been trademarked and globally recognized in the tennis industry
for more than 20 years.

Coach Casely has established several collegiate tennis programs, most notably bringing NCAA Division I Collegiate coaching experience to the Eagle Ray’s Tennis Program, as he previously led the Florida International University Golden Panthers Women’s Tennis Program from 2003 to 2008, first as an Assistant and then as Head Coach, achieving unprecedented success for the program during his tenure. Prior to his arrival, FIU’s best finish had been second in its
conference, then starting in the second year after his arrival, the team won 3 consecutive Sun Belt Conference Championships and made 5 straight NCAA Division I National Championship appearances. His teams also won the Athletic Department’s team GPA award every year he
was with the FIU program, which is an achievement he mentions with special pride.

Coach Casely has spent the last 20 years as Director of his own tennis academy, the Casely Tennis Academy, which currently manages 4 tennis facilities in Miramar, Pembroke Pines, and the City of Hollywood. He has also spent several years as a Professional Coach on the ITF and USTA Junior and Professional Circuits, guiding and developing world class tennis players. Over the years, players in Casely programs have received over 300 scholarships to colleges and universities, and one of his tournaments, the Casely International Championships is one of the biggest junior tournaments in the world.

As a player, Carlos Casely was ranked among the Top 10 players in Florida in the Men’s Open Division and enjoyed success as a professional player. His playing experience, along with his academic preparation as a Sports Psychologist (Florida International University in 2007), are
assets that contribute to his success in player development and as a game day coach. When asked about his appointment as the UIC Head Coach for Men & Women Tennis he commented “It is an unbelievable opportunity to be part of the United International College family, and an honor to be chosen to guide young men and women in their development on and off the tennis court. My passion for the development of the individual has been an extremely rewarding calling all my life, and my aim is to contribute in any way I can to the growth of the university.
