Coach Jonathan “JP” Hevia
Jonathan “JP” Hevia is the Head Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coach at United International College. Coach Hevia comes to UIC after college stints at ASA College (NJCAA) and Palm Beach Atlantic University (NCAA DII). During his time at Palm Beach Atlantic, Coach Hevia was part of a staff that led the 2019-2020 Sailfish to their first NCAA Tournament Bid in program history.
Prior to his time at the collegiate ranks, Hevia spent four years as the head coach of the highly successful South Florida Elite AAU basketball program, including three seasons working with the 17U squad. He also served as the head coach for one year at Circle Christian School in Winter Park, Florida, and as an assistant coach for three years at Westwood Christian HS in Miami.
As a player, Hevia earned all-county and all-state honors at Westwood Christian in 2012. He went on to play collegiately at Tennessee-Temple University and Oakland City University before finishing his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management at Warner University.
