Dr. Marcela Moyano
Dr. Marcela Moyano is the Senior Associate AD, Communications, Media, and Principal Gifts of UIC Eagle Rays Athletics Department. She also serves as the Director of Communications of United International College and faculty member of the Communications and Mass Media associate and bachelor programs of UIC. She is the executive producer of UIC Radio, which partners with community leaders to produce radio shows and podcasts that benefit local and international communities, and is an affiliate of UIC Eagle Rays. She is one of the members of the Board of Trustees of United International College. She serves in the Community Advisory Board of WLRN.
An award winning filmmaker dedicates her research inquiry to how to use media as a vehicle for social change. Dr. Moyano served as a faculty member of the Institute for Communications, Entertainment and Media of St. Thomas University for 10 years. She earned a B.A. in Communication Arts and a Minor in English. At Barry University, she earned an M.A. in Communication Arts with a specialization in Public Relations. In 2011, she graduated from her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership with a cognate area in Electronic Media from St. Thomas University. She lives in Miramar with her husband Fernando and two athletic children Nicolas and Cristina.
